Tijuana!

Finished setting up the third book of the 'Inheritance' arc this morning, and decided to take a break from all the writing I've been doing as of late, and get some drawing done. The original idea was to just knock out all the story work going into the next storyline(like it ought to be done), but whatever, three issues ahead on paper is plenty for me.
So, today I went back and revisited an old project I never got finished 'Pizza Fantasy'. It was really refreshing to dig into something that wasn't Smoker Girl related for a change, also working in a slightly different page format was kinda cool. I love doing these short stories, cuz when I'm working on the series, everything is so planned out, it can feel a bit tedious to work on at times. For that reason, I never do outlines, or preparations when I start doing a short. It's a breath of fresh air pushing the images and story into place as they come, not thinking about if it makes sense in the end. This exercise has been one of the greatest teachers to my understanding of art and storytelling, and I would encourage anyone making comics to try it sometime, if they don't already.

I also want to start printing these shorts in limited runs and distribute them around NY...we'll see how it goes. Here are a couple new pages I did today for Pizza Fantasy.
